HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR PRINTED & PERSONALISED GARMENTS
Caring for garments that have been printed on or are personalised, will require some extra care and precautions to help keep them looking as good as new for as long as possible. To help, we’ve put together some guides and top tips to start you in the right direction.
Always check your garment labels before washing, however, here are some recommendations we suggest for best results:
• DO NOT wash garments above 40°C Please use a medium cycle to wash (600-800rpm) Washing cycles of smaller times are recommended (30 mins – 1hr)
• DO NOT tumble dry – High temperatures can have a huge impact on the quality of the print
• DO NOT Iron
• Turn garment inside out before washing to increase print longevity
• Fabric softener – we all love it, but please be wary it can affect the print adhesive and quality

SEPARATE COLOURS
Always separate your washing into colours. No one wants their favourite white shirt turning pink.
FABRIC SOFTENER
Avoid using fabric softeners, as these can break down the fibres within the garments.
WASHING WHITES
To keep your whites looking brilliantly white, try using a washing detergent specifically for whites.
WASH INSIDE OUT
Try to wash all your garments inside out, this will help stop wearing, stretching and bobbling.
WASHING FREQUENCY
Only wash if necessary (we realise it is often necessary with children’s clothes). However less washing is better for the environment and will save you money.
MACHINE LOAD
Don’t overload your washing machine as this will increase bobbling, piling and worst of all, the need to iron.
IRONING
Set iron to correct temperature as per the garment label. Handily many school uniform garments are ‘easy care’, no ironing required. Just hang them up and hope for the best.
IRON-ON-LABELS
Only use on fabrics suitable for ironing and use a barrier rather than ironing directly onto the fabric. Don’t attempt to iron onto stretchy fabrics as you will be disappointed.
PRINTED GARMENTS
These should not be ironed over the printed area. Ideally iron inside out to avoid complaints from your child that you have ruined their leavers hoodie.
VELCRO FASTENINGS
Always fasten Velcro before washing. The material is abrasive and will try to destroy anything it touches.
FASTENING
We do suggest fastening zips and buttons before washing to reduce damage. Whilst the buttons can be fiddly, this will also help to keep the shape of cardigans.
FLUFF
Remember to regularly empty the fluff filter on both washing machines and tumble driers. All your clothes will thank you for it and you will smell better.
