Mighty Convoy: A 1,230 Mile Mission to Ukraine

At Price & Buckland, our commitment to making a difference goes beyond supplying high-quality school uniforms. This October, our joint Managing Directors, Anthony and Nick Buckland, embarked on an extraordinary mission of compassion, traveling over 1,200 miles to deliver life-saving aid to Ukraine.
It all started at 7:00 AM on Thursday, 10th October 2024, when Anthony and Nick, along with a convoy organised by the not-for-profit group Mighty Convoy, set off from London. They were to drive five 4×4 vehicles and one fridge van, all packed to the brim with vital medical supplies, to Lviv in Ukraine.

They travelled through the Eurotunnel into Europe, and continued to drive for a whopping 39 hours, covering 1,230 miles! It was a demanding trip, but one filled with purpose for a good cause.
The team took the scenic route to border control, to an area where they could safely and quickly cross over into Ukraine. Unfortunately, it wasn’t so much of the ‘quickly’ as they still had a 3 hour wait. The convoy arrived in Lviv late Friday evening, 11th October, at 11:00 PM.
The vehicles and their precious cargo were handed over to the Christian Medical Association, a local organisation that works closely with the military.
Among the supplies were medical kits and first aid essentials. Whilst the vehicles will now be used to evacuate injured soldiers from the front lines, which serves as a critical lifeline for those caught in the ongoing conflict.

While in Lviv, Anthony and Nick had the opportunity to speak with an Intelligence Officer from the Ukrainian Special Forces. They said hearing firsthand accounts of the situation on the ground was an eye-opening and humbling experience.

At Price & Buckland, we’re proud of the leadership shown by Anthony and Nick, and we hope their story inspires others to consider how they, too, can make a difference.
This incredible journey was made possible by Mighty Convoy, a not-for-profit company committed to organising missions like this one. If you’d like to support their efforts, visit Mighty Convoy’s website to learn more.
